Protect yourself from accidentally resetting (3 minute mod)
Here's an easy way to protect yourself from accidentally resetting your device--by minimizing the button size and having it recessed inside the unit. Do this by just removing the button cap (takes less than 3 minutes): 1) Remove the battery cover. 2) Remove the battery. 3) Remove the 3 screws. 4) Take a credit card and gently pry off the top by running it along the edge/seem on either narrow side first. Do it all around and there should be 5 to 6 plastic snaps. 5) Remove the plastic button cover. You are also rewarded with a cooler glow from the LED while charging! Your finger should still be able to access the power button and the iSpot will be less prone to turn on or accidentally reset while in your bag/backpack.

Or, you could simply just remove the battery while carrying it around like you suggested in another post

I like both tips, but this one isn't that hard to do. If you're extra paranoid, you could do both tips.

I actually don't want to pull out the battery, unless I absolutely have to.

They both seem valid, but I think I would stick with just removing the battery as well. It seems like it would be difficult to press that inner button at times. Of course it would also allow it to vent more. This thing can get quite toasty.

Actually it's not difficult to press the button at all. It's just recessed and smaller.

Re: Protect yourself from accidentally resetting (3 minute m
I am going to try this on my iSpot. I worry that I my press the button in my pocket.
EDIT
I tried this and it was very easy to do. Now no more wories about it being pressed in my pocket.
I dropped one of the screws on the floor when I was putting it back together. I think I will be fine that was my own fault. Hopefully I find it.
Thanks for posting this I would not have thought about it.

I agree with junkie about the hole, it is a great idea though. Also take a look at what I did with my iSpot, It is impossible to turn it off in a case like this. I can make a hole to charge it but that would be to much and destroy my sleek looking iPod case.
